Paulo Bruscky was born in Pernambuco, Brazil. He has participated in several collective exhibitions and has won several awards. Bruscky has also had individual exhibitions in Brazil and abroad. Since 1969, he has deepened his research in conceptual, environmental, spatial, and experimental art, stamps, happenings, copy art, proposals, artist’s books, audio art, etc. Since 1970, he has pioneered research in Brazil in copy art (electrography) and fax art. In 1973 he joined the movement "Internacional de Arte Correio" and participated in exhibits in Brazil and abroad. Among the festivals he has participated in are "The 7th International Impact Art Festival" Kyoto Museum, Japan, 1986, "Plagiarism Festival" CA/USA, 1989, and I and II "Festival Internacional de Radio Arte," Radio Nacional of Spain/Madrid, 1989/90. Bruscky has won several international awards, among them the Visual Arts of the Guggenheim Foundation, NY, USA 1981, which enabled him to travel to the USA and Europe during 1982. He wrote various articles on "Arte Correio (Mail Art)," Copy Art and "Multimeios," which were published in several countries. He has received citations, notes, and works published in several books, dictionaries, magazines and other publications.
