1
- What does Visual Poetry mean to you?
Visual poetry is a kind of graphic poetry that encompasses several different
movements from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. It gives priority to rapid communication,
where the word is simply one of several components, unlike in traditional poetry
where the word is the only component.
2 - Who were and/or are your sources of inspiration, your
models (either poets or artistic movements) in this artistic medium?
I don't cite models or sources, but I believe in a tendency towards simplification
and towards the use of contemporary languages that make communication easier,
especially through more recent vehicles.
3 - Why did you choose to create, or why do you enjoy
creating, Visual Poetry as one of your artistic expressions?
I use visual poetry as a means of artistic expression, but not as my only one.
I feel good about searching for a fast communication method, almost instantaneous
and more in touch with my own time.
4 - When did you first adopt Visual Poetry as a mode of
expression?
Since I began to write, I manifested a tendency towards the visualization of
the poem. I participated in various postmodern movements whose priorities were
the actualization of languages, like Concrete Poetry, Process-Poem, Postal Art,
etc.
