Joaquim Branco is a poet, graphic designer and critic, as well as editor of several newspapers (especially during the 60/70) of the counterculture and avant-garde poetry. He has won several literary awards. Branco was one of the organizers of the I Audio-Visual Festival (Music and Poetry) in Cataguases, in 1969, and also participated of the Concretist movement, Poem/Process movement and Postal Art movement. He frequently contributes with many publications in Brazil and abroad, as well as published several books of poetry and literary critic, such as: Concreções da Fala (1969), Consumito (1975), Laser para Lazer (1985), O Caça-Palavras (1995). Branco is a professor of Brazilian Literature of the College of Portuguese Language of Cataguases.
